cómo usar backharddi???

Fernando Lison contesto en un post de Ptrivino lo siguiente:
Sobre backharddi:
No contesté antes porque, sinceramente, no sé como es "al estilo gosht", pero bueno.
Comprendo tus reparos cuando te enfrentas al interfaz para configurar particiones arrancables con backharddi...
A través de backharddi-net sólo necesitas un ordenador que tenga instalado backharddi y los clientes con una tarjeta de red capaz de arrancar por PXE. Eso sí, por este método sólo puedes hacer imágenes del disco completo, no partición a partición.
EL proceso es:
1.- Instala backharddi-net en un ordenador
2.- Crea una partición backharddi en el mismo ordenador (o en un disco externo, por ejemplo) para que se guarden en ella las imágenes. Puedes hacerla tú mismo, sólo tiene que cumplir dos requisitos: el sistema de ficheros debe ser ext3 y la etiqueta tiene que ser "backharddi"
3.- Arranca el monitor de red de backharddi en Herramientas del Sistema.
4.- Aparece un cuadro para marcar servicios, márcalos todos y cruza los dedos, porque aquí viene la única dificultad. Si backharddi encuentra un servicio de ftp funcionando, mostrará un mensaje un poco críptico y se parará. La solución es parar a mano ese servicio y volver a lanzar el monitor de red. Si necesitas más ayuda, te lo cuento más despacio.
5.- Una vez en el monitor de red (una ventana prácticamente vacía con dos columnas).
6a.- Para crear una imagen de un ordenador. Enciende el ordenador y elige (en la BIOS o con F8 o F12 o como sea) que arranque por red, si todo va bien, llegará a una pantalla en la que dice algo así, como "Esperando comando del monitor de red".
7a.- Desde el monitor de red arrastra la MAC que aparece en la columna de la izquierda sobre la línea de la derecha donde pone Nuevo Grupo. Cuando lo hayas hecho bien, que tiene su truquillo, aparece una ventanita para decidir la acción a realizar: "Subir master" y luego se te pedirá un nombre y se guardará en la partición backharddi.
8a.- De nuevo en la ventana principal del monitor de red, pulsa sobre el grupo creado con el botón derecho y elige Lanzar grupo. Enseguida empezará a grabar la imagen de tu disco.

Para volcar imágenes tendrás que esperar un poco, porque tengo que salir...
Que es como un mini howt-to. Pero tengo hay muchos matices.
  • Hay varios servicios relacionados con ftp ¿hay que desactivarlos todos?

Pues sí, pueden ser varios los servicios y creo que sí que hay que pararlos todos, simplemente, desde una consola haz

ps -A | ftp
que debe mostrar más o menos esos servicios, y entonces lo paro, por ejemplo, para aftpd:

sudo /etc/init.d/aftpd stop
También pueden pararse -seguramente- desde el menú Sistema -> Administración -> Servicios.
El problema es que -dependiendo de la instalación- a veces estos servicios no aparecen listados al hacer ps -A , porque no están activos, se activan por medio de un superdemonio llamado inetd, que los activa cuando recibe una petición para ellos, y los desactiva cuando acaba el tráfico.
Para complicarlo aún más, este superdemonio puede llamarse inetd, o de otras maneras, en mi caso se llama openbsd-inetd, lo paro y adelante con backharddi:

Estoy usando MAX 3.1 y ya he probado a parar los servicios desde el escritorio gráfico en sistema > servicios.

Lo he hecho uno a uno y luego todos. Pero sigue dando el mismo mensaje.

He probado la opción:

ps -A | ftp

y no salia nada. He añadido grep pero tampoco. Así que me he ido directamente a

sudo /etc/init.d/aftpd stop

Y perfecto. Backharddi ha pasado a la siguiente pantalla. Ahí esperaba una opción para generar una imagen y no hay tal opción. Pero ya he llegado hasta aquí.

Reinicio y en grub selecciono Sistema de backup. Tras varios pasos llego hasta el particionado de mi disco. Intento marcar la partición donde está MAX 31.

Aparentemente no hace nada. Cliqueo dos veces y entra en una pantalla que dice que defina la acción. Pero solo hay:

No hacer nada

Se termino de definir la partición.

Continuo seleccionando realizar las acciones indicadas y se reinicia.

Y no pasa nada de nada.

No estas usando correctamente ni el monitor ni el cliente.

http://backharddi.ideseneca.es para leer una escueta pero util documentacion.

La interfaz del cliente de Backharddi es como la interfaz del debian instaler, cuando te dice "No hacer nada" eso es precisamente la opción que hay configurada en ese momento, haz doble click en ella para iterar sobre las diferentes opciones.

Para generar imagenes con el Monitor, primero has de iniciar las maquinas cliente para que arranquen por PXE, una vez arranquen te saldrán en el menu de la izquierda, arrastralas hacia el Label "Nuevo Grupo" y podras configurar las opciones que necesites.

Gracias Ocampos.

Sigo avanzando pero la cosa no termina de funcionar.

He creado un Cd de arranque de backharddi.

He conseguido generar una imagen en un disco portatil USB que es mi disco backharddi.

Desde otro equipo he iniciado con el cd y solictado restaurar la copia. Ha tardado una buena cantidad de minutos en que realizase el estudio del particionado del disco del cliente. La partición a clonar venía marcad con un asterisco. Y he conseguido iniciar el proceso. Al poco rato se ha parado indicándome que ha fallado el sistema de backup :cry:

Intento en otro Pc el procedimemiento por red. Y llago hasta lanzar el proceso con el grupo (1 solo PC) y termina al poco dando error. En el cliente dice que ha fallado el sistema backharddi y en el servidor pone un simple error. :cry:

Otra ayudita que voy acercándome.

Cuando el cliente da un error puedes acceder a una consola del BusyBox pulsando alt+f2 (por ejemplo), en /var/log/ tienes varios logs del sistema de masterizado si incluyeras la información que hay en ellos, me sería mucho más sencillo identificar el problema y darte una solución.

Gracias de nuevo.

Antes de leer tu respuesta ya había repetido la imagen del PC master.

Usando el método del disco de arranque y la opción backharddi HD he conseguido "clonar" el equipo en un cliente.

Tiempo de análisis de particiones: 2 minutos. Me parece algo lento.
Tiempo de restauración 4 minutos. Rapidísimo. Con partimage tardo justo el doble.

Usaré el log en cuanto vuelva a tener problemas que los tendré por dos razones:

-Por que quiero restaurar por red y

-Por que mi aula tiene PCs distintos. Y 10 que deberían ser iguales resulta que no y un par de ellos tienen distinta BIOS y otras pequeñas diferencias que me están volviendo loco.

Tengo un sabor agridulce con backharddi.

Ya he conseguido acostumbrarme a como se deben hacer los pasos para crear imágenes y restaurar imagenes. Por este lado, creo que falta en cada ventana texto autoexplicatitivo de lo que hay que hacer.

He conseguido tras mucho esfuerzo dos imagenes de una memoria usb de 2 GB que tienen dos particiones fat16. Una con portableapps y la otra con nanomax.

He descubierto que los discos o memorias a clonar sea exactamente iguales. Con partimage eso no era necesario.

He empezado a clonar la memoria USB a otras exactamente iguales. A partir de la tercera clonación la cosa ha empezado a fallar. Primero me ha salido un criptico mensaje que no puedo repetir porque con el disgusato se me pasó hacer una copia. El caso es que lo solucione colocando el disco de backup de backharddi que es un portatil USB de 160 GB y la memoria USB a clonar en los mismos puertos físicos que en los que realice la copia backup.

Ahora, cuando hace el clonado comineza siempre con la partición activa (la de nanomax) y cuando pasa hacer la segunda siempre falla. Pulso ctrl+alt+F2 para entrar en la consola y hago

cd /var/log

ls

y aparecen los ficheros de log syslog, partman y partimage.stats cuyo contenido es (y perdón por ocupar tanto):
